Reef Check weekday warriors!
August is time for our fall survey of the Monterey Breakwater. As you know this site can get a bit busy on weekends so we survey it during the week. Our awesome veteran surveyor David will be running this survey.

What: 2 survey dives

When: Friday Aug 24, meet at 8:30am

Where: Meet in the lower lot (by the jetty wall) on the Monterey breakwater.
Directions: In Monterey, heading West on Del Monte, bear right onto Lighthouse Ave, then bear right onto Foam St. Make a right onto Cannery Row.

What to bring: all dive gear including 2 full tanks, your survey slate and tape, a WORKING dive light, warmth and snacks and water for in between dives. You can get free air fills at Seven Seas, Aquarius, Bamboo Reef, Aqua Safaris, Diver Dan's, Tropical Adventures, with your Reef Check cards.

Who's coming? Unlike boat dives there is no limit to the number of divers, the more who come the less work for all!

Reef Checkers! Thanks so much for coming out to survey Breakwater last Friday. It was a small group but an all-star cast so nearly all the site was completed! Despite marginal vis you were able to check off all the cores, and 6 fish... the rest will be easily completed in a dive. Not only did you help Reef Check out with your surveying skills but you also helped to spread the word about Reef Check in the local media. Check out the article that was written about your survey in the Santa Cruz Sentinel and the San Jose Mercury! Thanks so much for all you do!
