Wanted to confirm that my other plans on the 14th vaporized, as expected, so no longer a strong maybe, I'm a for sure.

Re: LA: Mega Malibu on the Magician Sept. 14 - SUCCESS!
Thanks for such a successful trip aboard the Magician!
20 of us boarded the boat on the evening of September 13th for the 7th annual Mega Malibu survey. We were rocked to sleep with the gentle nudging of a south swell as we headed up to Leo Carrillo. We woke up while it was still a bit dark out and made a plan of action for the day. While we weren't met with the best underwater conditions, we did soldier on and managed to get most of Leo Carrillo completed. We followed it up with a complete survey of Lechuza and Paradise Cove. We ended up aborting the final dive at Big Rock due to low viz and a bit of current, but it was still a very productive and fun day. I saw a lot of smiles and people were already asking about next year's trip, so that's a good sign!
A huge thanks to everyone who came out for this trip. This is a big day for us as surveying all of our Malibu sites in one survey season can be a challenge. But you all had amazing enthusiasm and wonderful attitudes.
A big thanks, also, to Malibu Divers who pledged to help support the efforts this year by donating part of the charter fees for this trip. Please check them out as they are the newest member of our Buddy Breathing program. Details to follow on our website later this week and you can check this link in a few days for more details: http://reefcheck.org/rcca/buddy_breathing_program.php
I posted a few photos of the day here: http://gallery.reefcheck.org/index.php/ ... e-Magician
Thanks again to everyone!
See you next year....Mega Malibu is Mega Fun!
