Reef.org Fish ID webinars

Postby bsullivan » Mon May 14, 2012 7:15 pm

Reef.org conducts fish surveys all around the world including right here in California. (They also have some incredible tax-deductible research trips in great places.) This Tuesday (tomorrow) and Thursday they are hosting a California Fish Id webinar to help prep people for supporting those surveys. Details are below for Cali and other regions.

I'm hosting a Fish ID webinar streaming party at Google in Mountain View if anyone would like to join. Details below the Reef.org section.

Cheers,
-brian

California Fish ID

Learn how to identify many of the common fish you see on your California dives. Fun, easy way to remember the ID keys for each fish. 2.5 hour session. This is a two-part class. Join us for one or both evenings. Northern and Southern California fish both included.
Instructors: Keith Rootsaert and Janna Nichols

Part One: Tuesday, May 15th at 7pm PDT, 2.5 hour class - Register
Part Two: Thursday, May 17th at 7pm PDT, 2.5 hour class - Register

CHECK YOUR TIME ZONE! This class starts at 7pm Pacific Coast time. Your time zone may vary.
Although the Fishinars are free, you must register for each session you'd like to attend.
If you are not already a member, you'll need to Join REEF to be able to register (it's free).
Once you register for the webinar, you will receive a confirmation email with details on how to log on.
Please log on at least 5-10 min prior to your session start time if possible.

If you are interested in the Google Party:

Details:
6:15 meet outside building 43 by the T-Rex and get signed into Google
6:30 dinner starts. Gives us plenty of time to gather food and head up to a conference room for the webinar
6:50-9:30 Fish ID Webinar!! I'm already signed up, so you just need to show up!

Getting Here:
1600 Amphitheatre Pkwy, Mountain View, CA 94043 (see attached map)
There are a lot of Google buildings, don't just go into the first one that says Google. Park at the address above, and head to go to building 43. If you are lost, ask somewhere to point you to the T-Rex dinosaur or volleyball courts on "main campus" where you are meeting.
It can be a little confusing, so leave extra time to find it if you haven't been here before.
Let me know if you are joining and feel free to give me a call if you have any questions,
