SD: Point Loma boat dives Saturday, September 15th! Broomtail & Hill St.

Postby Katiekozma » Thu Mar 22, 2018 2:16 pm

Hi Reef Checkers,

First boat dive in San Diego is scheduled aboard the Lois Ann. Why not join us aboard this great boat for a fun day out on the water surveying two separate sites in Point Loma. We will need a large team to get both sites done so sign up today!

Details:
Broomtail Reef and Hill Street
Saturday September 15th
Still confirming exact logistics, but we should probably be ready for pre-dive briefing with all of your gear at the top of the ramp by 6:15 am

Where:
The Lois Ann out of Mission Bay, San Diego - meet at the top of the ramp
Click on this link for directions and boat details: http://loisann.com/directions.html

When:
Meet at 6:15 am at the top of the ramp with all of your dive gear - we will load the boat after our team meeting. We are slated to be back by 2:30 pm

Who:
The first 16 divers to respond. Our goal is to do two dives - one at Broomtail Reef and one at Hill Street. We are trying to do two sites in one day in San Diego, so we definitely need all the help we can get. We are aiming to fill this boat and have a few people on the waitlist, just in case someone gets sick or has to cancel a few days beforehand.

Each diver should bring all survey and dive gear, including weights. The boat provides aluminum 80 tanks. You are welcome to bring your own tank if you'd prefer - the crew will fill tanks between dives. The boat also provides snacks/drinks. Don't forget your calipers! We'll have plenty of data sheets!

Please respond to the post and once we have 16 people signed up, we'll start a wait list.

Suggested Donation:
Reef Check is striving to use our resources wisely. To help support the program, it is suggested that RCCA divers on boat charters may help defray the cost of supplies and boat costs by making a $30 donation to Reef Check - but really, any amount helps support the cause if you are able to do so. However, Reef Check will never turn away divers that either can't or choose not to donate. If you are interested, you can donate online by visiting http://www.reefcheck.org/make-a-donation.
