Welcome 2017 San Diego Class!!!

Postby Katiekozma » Sat Jul 15, 2017 11:55 am

Greetings new Reef Checkers!

Welcome to the forum! We hope you have enjoyed your training so far this weekend. Great job getting through the classroom and pool session portion of the training! This is where we post all our dives and events, so it's helpful to get familiar with our forum. If you have any questions at all please feel free to contact Selena or myself.

As part of your homework assignment for the class, please post a reply here giving yourself a quick intro and tell us what your favorite dive site is in California.

Personally, I love Scorpion Anchorage on Santa Cruz Island in the Northern Channel Islands. It's such a unique reef with tons of fish to count and there are usually tons of Bat Rays swimming around as well.

We can't wait to dive in the field with all of you in a few weeks!

Certification Class has been fun and mind stretching. Thank you

I am a Pirate at heart and love the water in all forms. I am always amazed at the intricacies of creation and never get tired of exploring them. My favorite dive site in California is anywhere I can get wet :D

Hey! I'm a software developer from Long Beach working on my divemaster certification. My favorite dive spot in California is Casino Point - I saw my first Giant Sea Bass down there last month!

I'm looking forward to this weekend! See you all on the boat!

Hi there!! It's Michelle. Looking forward to tomorrow. My favorite dive spot is Pt. Lobos in Carmel. Amazing place! Must make a reservation to dive there, but worth the planning ahead.

Hello All!
It's Kimberly here! I am very much looking forward to diving with you all tomorrow. So far, my favorite diving place is tied between Monterey Breakwater, Catalina and Palos Verdes. Too many wonderful places to dive here in California to choose a favorite! The other day, I spotted a Great White Shark near Palos Verdes before our dive! It was breathtaking and quite exciting. See you all bright and early tomorrow!

Hey now,
Looking forward to diving in the OC and SD. I've got a flexible schedule, so early dives during the week work best.

Peace and love,

Jayme

Hi there! So glad to join Reef Check's team of dedicated volunteers. The training has been challenging and inspiring beyond anything I anticipated. My favorite California dives (so far) are at Santa Barbara Island. Hope to see you all soon on surveys!
