10.07.17 Sea Ranch Survey Weekend CANCELED!

Postby dabbott » Tue Aug 01, 2017 4:19 pm

Reefcheckers!

UPDATE: Canceled due to poor conditions.

Another north coast date to book on your calendars! We will be diving and staying in a beautiful home in Sea Ranch! We currently have one site in the Sea Ranch area and we are looking to do another new one this year in the Del Mar MPA.

More information to come as the details get sorted out but we will keep you all up to date!

UPDATE****
Hey Team!
Our apologies for the delay on this email, the conditions where looking a little sketchy and we waited to book the house until we knew we could make the dives happen! Saturday is looking pretty great but Sunday might get a little bumpy.

We will be staying at a lovely house in Sea Ranch named Moonshadow at 38047 Foothill Close, Sea Ranch.
The house has a full kitchen so no need to bring cookware however I would bring your own towels and an extra blanket or two for the beds. It does sleep 6, with two large beds and two single beds and plenty of couches to crash on as well. If you arrive first the lock box code is 90635, you are welcome to let yourself in and get settled!

For the diving side of the weekend you will need all your dive gear, survey gear including flashlights, weights and tanks. There is NO place to fill tanks near Sea Ranch so please bring all the tanks you plant to use for the entire weekend. We are planning on doing 2 dives on Saturday and 2 on Sunday. That means you will need 4 tanks if you plan on doing all the dives.

Let us know if you have any questions! I will not be attending this weekend but Dan Abbott will be your fearless leader! Have a great time.

I'm interested in more information about this trip, and possibly signing up.

Hey Shelli,
We will be renting at house at Sea Ranch and will be doing 2 dives on Saturday and 2 on Sunday in the local area. We are going target the Del Mar reserve. You will need to bring all of your gear including the tanks that you plan to use for the weekend. There is not a local dive shop or compressor to fill tanks from. We usually do one bit pot luck on Saturday night as well!

Dan,

I need some info: you say a house are we inside? Are we cooking on a stove? I've heard there is a hot tube? So we'll need bathing suits? Are there beds for everyone? or are we all over the floor etc? Can I plug in a CPAP?

DON'T KNOW never been on this survey

We're still waiting to make sure the conditions are going to be ok, but the answers to all your questions should be yes.
