07.22-07.23 North Coast Survey

Postby AnnaOcean » Thu Apr 06, 2017 11:33 am

We will be surveying one of the north coast's lovely shore sites! A more solid plan will be determined when we can get a better look at conditions but in general we will be meeting at the beach (location TBD) at 9am on Saturday May 13th and 14th and doing two dives from shore!

Camping will be provided at Van Damme State Park and I will hang the RCCA banner at the site and send out as much information on site numbers in the complete planning email.

You will need: all of your dive gear, including two tanks and weights, all of your survey gear, flashlights, water, lunch, warm cloths, sun protection and layers! Please come prepared to spend the entire day at the beach! We will not have time to go into town between dives.

If you are camping you will need to provide all of your own camping gear as well.

More information to come as swell models and weather forecast's are generated!

Hi Anna. The survey is two days out and I still haven't heard any more details about it. The original post in the thread states that we're meeting May 13th and 14th, which obviously can't be true--I presume this is due to being rescheduled. Even if the same schedule still applies for this weekend, I would like to know for sure what time(s) I should be there, which nights we have camping reservations for, etc. How are the conditions looking? Also, your first post said to bring two tanks. This confuses me, are we only doing one dive per day? Or is there a filling station? I need to make my make my travel plans now, so I'm afraid at this point, if I don't hear back soon, I will have to cancel. Let me know if my email address is not in the system.
